Reeved Biography
Reeved are a Bradford based rock band comprising of the unusual line-up of 2 vocalists, 1 guitarist, a bassist and a drummer. Their style, although difficult to pin down, has been described as contemporary rock with a metal edge. When it comes to their own material, they are meticulous song crafters and are not ones to rush a piece. However they never lose sight of the fact that their music, above all else should be fun, both for band and audience alike.

History
Reeved was initially formed by vocalist David Ayres and guitarist Tom Page in October 2001. As the band started making music, they felt at that time due to the then current line up, that they may need something to help enhance the sound, so they asked keyboard player Iain Johnson if he was interested in joining the band. Iain readily accepted. This line up stood until around the middle of Jan 2002, when Tom said he wanted to leave to concentrate on a solo career.
Shortly after, the band were approached by local band "Fugoo" to support them, along with "Butterfinger" and "Krayola Kids" for a show at Rios, Bradford. Due to Tom leaving the band needed a guitarist, so David rang Paul Gooding, who joined the band with immediate effect. Work started for the gig when by the beginning of February, Gary got a job in London and was forced to relocate and therefore leave the band. With the show fast approaching and a severe lack of material, the band quickly had to find a replacement. This fortunately came along in the shape of David and Chris’s older brother Michael Ayres, who occupied the drum-stool straight away.
The Rio’s show was a success. However, despite this, their live set still consisted of mainly covers with only one original composition – "World Keeps Turning". And so the band returned to the rehearsal room to set about starting work on some more of their own material. However, after the quick completion of their second song – "Technicolor", differences in musical direction started to appear. So it was then decided upon that keyboards were not deemed necessary for the ‘Reeved’ sound so the band moved towards the idea of having a twin guitar sound. The band approached old friend Alec Marlow about joining as full time guitarist.
With Alec on board, the band immediately started work in a new rehearsal room and started to make good progress. After a long run of successful gigs, a healthy fan base began to follow them around the country. Reeved unexpectedly hit a fork in the road. Different views soon became evident, as a collision of musical tastes became apparent. Alec left the band in late September 2003 to play a more progressive rock sound. The band auditioned and used other guitarists but decided sticking with the line up they had and not bringing any further people into the band.
With the line up now complete of one guitarist and no keyboards Reeved (featuring the 3 brothers playing together) continued to forge ahead with their own unique sound.
In 2004 Reeved played more shows including headlining one of the ‘We Rock’ shows in West Yorkshire in front of over 350 people.
They also recorded a demo simply known as ‘5’ (named after the amount of people in the band). This features 3 of their own compositions which shows their musical diversity and strengths and also has a cover version of a song that they’ve now made their own. Now with a packed roster of live shows announced, this year proves to be a very busy one for a band who are determined to succeed further in the future.
The band line up consists of:
Dave Ayres - Vocals
